For more than 20 years, HBC has partnered with Baptist Medical & Dental Mission International to bring the gospel to villages and towns in Honduras.
Does a person need to be a medical professional to join the Honduras mission team? NO! There are many ways to be involved on this mission team. In addition to treating patients in medical and dental clinics, non-medical team members are trained to assist in the pharmacy, to help in fitting eyeglasses, to distribute food and clothing, to do door-to-door evangelism, and to help with the children’s ministry programs.
Working with BMDMI missionaries, some members of the team preach gospel messages or share personal conversion testimonies multiple times daily in worship services. On some trips, our team includes a construction group. Occasionally, veterinary services are also provided.
There are other ways to join the Honduras team without leaving the U.S. Prior to the trip, many people get together for “pill packing parties” or to help with sorting and packing clothing. Marty Barnes is the team leader.
